Slightly shakey
[edit]Hi Wickey-nl,
I saw your quality piece of art at File:Israel-Palestine peace.svg but immediately got the sense that the hand on the right appeared to be less powerful than the hand on the left. On closer inspection I noted that the hand on the right had a thinner wrist, an index finger that did not reach around the hand on the left, a shorter distance from wrist crease to index finger and a more pronounced bend at the wrist. I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to put the two sides on a more equal "footing" (footing? is that right? well you know what I mean). :) Am liking your pictures generally and hope no offence is taken. :) wikipedia.org//User:Gregkaye Gregkaye (talk) 07:39, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- This perfectly expresses the unequal (and highly deplorable) positions of the parties. It should definitely not be changed. --Wickey-nl (talk) 15:30, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
- BTW, the imbalance is somewhat compensated by the slightly higher position of the Pal logo. --Wickey-nl (talk) 15:40, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry its taken time to get back to this page. My view is that no possible excuse should be offered for what you rightly call a deplorable situation. People around the world wonder why there is a such a situation. They come to the page and they get an answer. Oh, its because the Palestinians are weaker than the Israelis. An individual Palestinian should be presented as the equal of an individual Israeli. The reason for the injustice has nothing to do with the relative strengths of the people but the Injustice of the political system. Please don't let there be mixed messages.
- BTW, I am working on some User templates @ Category:Israeli-Palestinian peace user templates. You are a creative guy and I wondered if you'd have ideas for other stuff. Cheers m8. Gregkaye (talk) 16:30, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- The only Israelis and Palestinians that are well known to have shaken hands: File:Bill Clinton, Yitzhak Rabin, Yasser Arafat at the White House 1993-09-13.jpg, Gregkaye (talk) 00:03, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
- The symbol does not stand for individual Palestinians/Israeli, rather for the political system. Neither it is an excuse. Your perception of the "message" may differ from other's perception. --Wickey-nl (talk) 15:59, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Removing microsporidia species designation
[edit]Hi - Out of interest, why did you make this change: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Fibrillanosema_spore.jpg&oldid=17334364 ? As far as I know the photo is correctly identified. If not, could you place a comment somewhere on the image? I have added the species name back as category. Thanks for uploading File:Al Bowereh blocked entrance.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Al Bowereh blocked entrance.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
